Why the 4th of July matters even when you’re living abroad

Living in Ecuador offers many exciting opportunities, but holidays can sometimes remind us how far we are from family traditions and familiar celebrations.

That’s why community events like the 4th of July Celebration sponsored by Military Veterans of Cuenca, at Hostal Pichincha, are so meaningful. They provide an opportunity for Americans and friends of the United States to come together, share stories, build connections, and celebrate the values and traditions that make Independence Day special.

This year’s event will feature food, music, games, and a welcoming atmosphere designed to bring the expat community together. Whether you’re new to Cuenca or have called Ecuador home for many years, you’ll find friendly faces and a festive environment waiting for you.

Independence Day is about more than fireworks—it’s about community, friendship, and celebrating the journey that brought us together.

Join us on July 4 at Hostal Pichincha, Juan Montalvo 9-78 between Gran Colombia and Bolívar.
