Take your shoes off…when you meet a new southern country, with a different culture, language, habits and ceremonies.
Be kind and humble when the people of a different country open their arms and let you enjoy and share with them their piece of land that they belong to. That is now where you belong too.
Take your time to observe, learn, re-learn, discern and earn by doing so.
In this culture we don’t take our shoes off in a literal way before coming into a place, but we warmly welcome visitors or immigrants, that’s part of the history of this land.
Anyways, language is just a tiny tool to connect better with people. If you want to have a thoughtful understanding of this land, its manners, mores and worldview, leave a message and we will see if we can work together.
Best,
“When people allow you to know about their pain and talk about it, take your shoes off. It’s a holy place. Be humble, be kind when someone shows you vulnerability.” Amani Albair
P.S. – I’m no longer working in person in the modest city of Cuenca – just remotely armed with my 11 years background tutoring students and armed with a strong signal connection.
P.P.S. – you can come alone or…you can bring a close friend, a business partner, a furry friend or a purring cat to the lessons, I’m cool with either.
