This June Solstice (Saturday, June 20th), Casa Aguacolla will be helping support intercultural communication and community outreach for a beautiful local Inti Raymi celebration in Sígsig, Ecuador, hosted in collaboration with local organizers and the municipality.
Inti Raymi is a community-rooted Andean festival honoring reciprocity, culture, music, tradition, seasonal cycles, and connection with the land.
For those living abroad in Ecuador (or visiting), this may be a meaningful opportunity to experience a more community-based cultural gathering beyond the usual expat/tourist bubble.
The event itself is free and open to the public, though transportation, food, artisan purchases, and certain optional activities may involve individual costs.
The celebration is expected to include:
– traditional music and dance
– local artisans and gastronomy
– cultural and ceremonial elements
– beautiful mountain landscapes
– opportunities for respectful participation and connection
We’re still awaiting final details from organizers regarding transportation and exact programming, but wanted to begin opening the conversation now so interested participants can save the date and stay connected as more information emerges.
Our intention in sharing this is to help foster thoughtful and respectful intercultural participation, live cultural immersion, community connection, and meaningful exchange.
For those interested in participating — or simply learning more about the cultural context and traditions surrounding Inti Raymi and the Andean solstice — Casa Aguacolla will also be sharing reflections, orientation resources, and updates in the coming weeks.
If this resonates with you, feel free to comment or send us a message to stay informed and connected around this opportunity for meaningful participation, immersion, and living between cultures
