Friday at Pájaro y Bestia

We are bringing back an old favorite:

Chuletas de Cerdo Grueso. Thick cut pork chops. When you see these coming from the kitchen, you will think it is a thick cut steak. These chops are about 4 cm thick (1.5 inches for you non-metric folks).

But the pork chops come with a disclaimer. They are promised to be delivered tomorrow morning in time for us to serve at 1 PM. That means that the more probable Ecuadorian delivery time will put our ability to serve them at 2. And there is a possibility that they will not make it in time to serve before Saturday. Welcome to Ecuador.

Tomorrow is also first day of donuts from the Donut King. Among the best in town. Come see us in the morning for a little sweet snack and coffee.
Or maybe for some bacon and eggs.
Or maybe just for some coffee that is made in a French press, instead of that burnt acid taste of those nasty coffee makers.

And if your retired butt sleeps in past the breakfast hours, then maybe a little almuerzo. Today we have shrimp and crab chowder. Served with a full-sized piece of our almost legendary cornbread. (Almost legendary only because there are still a few yankee gringos out there that do not yet understand what southern cornbread can be). 11 AM to 2:30 PM only.
