Boosts your immunity – Zinc + Selenium IV Therapy

IV Nutrient Therapy is a tool to safely and efficiently administer high dosages of nutrients that the body could not absorb through food or oral supplementation alone.

Zinc and selenium help support the thyroid, immune system, and insulin deficiency.

Zinc and selenium are two trace elements that are required for human health. Each of these minerals plays an essential role in the body, and insufficient levels can lead to a variety of health problems. In addition, zinc and selenium are required for healthy immune function, making these nutrients vital for keeping the body free of disease and common illnesses.

The intravenous administration of this mineral via Selenium IV is highly recommended for several reasons. Selenium regulates critical metabolic functions and is capable of fighting oxidative damage caused by free radicals. It can lower individual susceptibility to illness and is also indicated to support vital bodily functions.

Priceless

(Recalling a famous ad from the 90s).

Dinner for two, jazz and red wine included in a restaurant in Cuenca 50 bucks.

Massage with flowers and pedicure: 80 bucks.

Furnished apartment (furnished apartment) close to Supermaxi del Redondel 600 to 700 bucks- if you have a fur friend 100 more bucks.

Valuable things in life that money can’t buy:

Time
Loyalty
True friends
What else?

Listen to native Spanish speakers and understand your first sentences: priceless.

There are some things money can not buy… for everything else…whoa, whoa, I am not a credit card promoter but a language teacher.

Fortunately, improving your Spanish flow in six weeks is something you can buy.

Recommendation for Annie Schinsky, massage therapy

She is incredible. The massage takes place in her home but it is very comfortable and secluded. She is very professional and does more of a deep tissue massage. She also offers 3 massages that are 90 minutes for a total of $100. This has been a blessing for me because I don’t like Swedish massages and that is all I have been able to find here! Highly recommend.

Recommendation for Isabel Mosquera, facilitator

We highly recommend Isabel Mosquera for visa transfer and cedula renewal procedures. After 3 other facilitators failed, we found Isabel, and with a power of attorney, she did all the work for us, including filing papers in Azogues, obtaining an updated marriage certificate from New York State and all the other documents required for the Certificado de Cedulación at the Registro Civil. The only time we had to leave our home was the day of the renewal of the cedula.

The process may or may not take a while, but she gets it done. And, unlike the other facilitators, she replies to your email or WhatsApp.

Hola. ¿Hablas español?

Sometimes learning another language can be hard. Spanish changes all of that!

Besides having more chances of landing a good job or advancing in your career, learning a second language can also give you an insight into other cultures and can open a world of opportunities! Children who are raised with at least two languages have been found to have greater social understanding.

TGIF with Pawsome News for the Dogs of Cuenca!

We waited till Friday to share this exciting news for animal welfare in Cuenca!

Our vision at FAAN (Fundacion Familiar Amor Animal) is a city where all animals including those of pet owners, community dogs and street dogs are respected and cared for by the collective community.

We are now working in a grassroots community effort to buy permanent land for the shelter because our temporary lease is expiring and we need to urgently move our dogs as soon as possible.

A generous and anonymous donor wants to inspire animal lovers in Ecuador and around the world to help us achieve this vision and focus both on a sustainable shelter for our most vulnerable dogs including senior and unadoptable dogs, side by side with community-based prevention and education strategies.

Our donor has provided a challenge grant in which your donation dollar for dollar will be matched through March 15, 2023!

Will you be a match for the dogs?

BBQ Friday at Pájaro y Bestia

Menu for today:

Entrees:
* Pork Spareribs – Cooked from beginning to end on a wood fired smoker. Sauce on the side because we have nothing to hide. Real deal BBQ.
* Smoked, then braised beef ribs – rubbed with a coffee rub, smoked, then braised in a stout beer and umami braising liquid.
* Chicken wings and ribs combo plate – special priced to introduce chicken wings. 2 ribs and 6 wing sections on a combo plate.

Sandwiches:
* High on the Hog – traditional pulled pork complete with a dollop of coleslaw on top. Face it, a pulled pork sandwich is not complete without the slaw.
* Fried Onion Hamburger – Invented in El Reno, Oklahoma many, many years ago (confirmed origin by the NY Times). Deliberately different than our competition.

Side dishes:
* Mac & Cheese – 4 cheese blend. Makes my belly warm thinking about it. Get some!
* White potato salad – so good you will want to kiss the cook (but please don’t).
* Cowboy beans – breaking out the coffee pot and whiskey bottle again just to flavor the beans. This week because a business neighbor requested an encore…
* Coleslaw – Your momma would be so-o-o-o proud of you for eating fresh vegetables

Desert:
* Goldi’s Cookies – unbelievably good
* Sticky rice – Glutinous (sticky) rice, with not one, but two coconut sauces, and fresh mango heaped on top.

Additional new tables and additional new employees this week. Expect a couple of unannounced surprises on the menu if these people are only half as good as I expect them to be.

This week, we will have a dedicated staff member available to help walk you through the voting process for the Best of Cuenca on GringoPost. As soon as you wrap your lips around our food, you will agree this is Real Deal BBQ. Let me repeat that – Real Deal BBQ.

You are invited ~ Come see what we are all about

At Trinity Church Cuenca, God is building a family-friendly church that consists of people of all ages, countries, cultures, and backgrounds. A place where the people of Cuenca can find God, love, unity, hope and grace.

Come check us out and see what we are all about. We are genuine, we are real, we are different.

Come early and have some coffee and pastries with us. Worship starts promptly at 10 AM.

We are a diverse church with people from many different countries, cultures, and backgrounds. We come together to explore the true meaning of God’s word and how to apply it to our lives; build strong relationships; serve each other and serve our community.

We desire to be a true expression of the love of Jesus. Worship is in English and Spanish. Our message is in English with simultaneous translation in Spanish via state-of-the-art translation equipment.

We are located on Ordonez Lasso in the River Side building (same building as Bank Pichincha next door to Home Vega) We are on the first floor with ample parking and bus stops close by.
