It’s finally here! The 2-day celebration of the XV Madre Tierra Festival at Parque la Libertad!
Here is the schedule of activities (times are slightly flexible)
Saturday, March 21 (10 AM – 10 PM)
Festive Parade begins at idiomARTE and goes to Parque la Libertad (meet at 9:30 AM) Route: Estevez de Toral to Heroes de Verdaloma to Nicanor Merchán
This is an open invitation to anyone who would like to participate. There will be a float, live music, people dressed up in masks and a lot of other fun things. This is not going to be a typical parade… think mini-Mardi Gras!

Cultural Activities (12:30 pm …)
Cata Viento theatrical performance. Documentary “La Ruta Antigua del Cacao”. Testimonial video from private nature preserve, “La Comuna Marcos Peréz de Castilla”. Featured talks with: Santiago Quispe of Perú. Maria Eugenia of the Cuenca Machángara Conservation Committee.
Live music (3:30 …)
De Flamingos (hip hop). Memo Tape (alt rock). Jaime Martinez (singer/songwriter). Rex Mater (metal). High Modo (hip hop). Afro Chonta (traditional afroesmeraldeña). Ensamble (original compositions created for festival featuring various musicians).
