This easy recipe shows you how to make a delicious blue cheese sauce, to accompany any type of steak you wish.
Prep time: 2 minutes
Cook time: 10 minutes
Total time: 12 minutes
Ingredients:
• 1 shallot, very finely chopped
• Knob of butter
• 125g Danish blue cheese
• 2 tbsp white wine
• 100ml double cream
• Freshly ground black pepper
• Chopped chives to garnish
Instructions:
1. Melt the butter in the pan and add the chopped shallot. Cook the shallot for about 5 minutes on a low to medium heat, stirring regularly.
2. Then add the white wine and wait until it has reduced (about 1-2 minutes). Then add the blue cheese to the pan and wait until it has all melted before adding the cream.
3. Stir well and heat for about one minute, seasoning with black pepper to suit. You will not need to add any salt, as the cheese is already very salty. Finally, garnish with the chives.
4. Serve up separately, or on top of the steak as required.
Notes
This sauce is very rich, but is a perfect combination with a good tasty steak.
