So I’ve been eating and sticking by Kolo since it opened 2.5 years ago and although there have been some bumps in the road, the business has found its footing!
The new chef Maile puts out delicious consistent plates. IMO Kolo has the best hash browns in Cuenca – crispy and delicious, the eggs Benedict with a brilliant made to order real Hollandaise sauce. Also, our friend had the Mediterranean scramble, to her great delight.
Kolo is my go to restaurant for the best damned cinnamon rolls around. I’ve tried many others and honestly Milena’s pastries from cookies to pies and cakes are riquísimo! BTW, Kolo makes the best “chess pie” south of the border.
OK enough! BTW, Milena is the proprietor and will great you with smiles, and of course, hugs and make sure you get quality service and food. Frank Gonzalez is no longer involved with this little gem in a beautiful setting.
As for service, the best Waitress ever, Ashley, knows her customers and will remember details about you and your likes even after one visit. Can’t say enough.
Ok expats, if the past has colored your opinion it is time to give Kolo another try. You won’t regret it.
