Doctora Elizabeth saved our cat’s life. No exaggeration. Our cat has had respiratory issues his entire life, and multiple veterinarians in the States and Ecuador said they believed it to be feline herpes resulting in secondary infections. Because our cat is violently (and I mean “violently”) opposed to taking oral medication, we have given him Convenia injections when infections come up.
Unfortunately, he stopped responding to Convenia, and was quickly declining. Dra Elizabeth ordered in-depth tests of his lungs and nose–tests no vet had ever recommended before. It turned out his underlying issue wasn’t feline herpes; it was chronic rhinitis, likely caused by allergies. She was also able to determine exactly what kind of bacteria was causing the infection (it was two different bacterias–one in the nose and one in the lungs) and their resistance to different medications. And before all of that invasive testing she did a suite of lighter-duty tests to ensure that all his systems could handle it.
Doctora Elizabeth came to our apartment for all the following appointments because our cat was literally at death’s doorstep and the stress of leaving the house would have done him in. When he absolutely refused the ideal medication, we made the difficult decision together to use a higher-risk injectable antibiotic and Elizabeth came to the house every other day to give him fluids to support his system.
Incredibly, our cat survived. we are still learning to control the underlying allergies, and for two months Doctora Elizabeth has followed up weekly to adjust steroid doses and provide additional guidance.
If we had found Dra Miau sooner, our other cat would not have been misdiagnosed, would have gotten the care he needed, and would still be with us today.
