Date: Saturday, September 27, 2025
Meeting: 8 AM, Parque San Sebastián.
Back in Cuenca: 3 PM

Step into the highlands of Gualaceo, Azuay, in the “Collay Protected Forest” where the trails lead us across vast páramos and biodiverse forests, the natural territory of the iconic Andean bear (tremarctos ornatus). As we hike, you’ll discover unique plants and breathtaking views, and we’ll follow in the footsteps of the Andean bear, which, with luck, can be seen in this area of the eastern Andes.

A perfect adventure for those who love hiking, photography, and the country’s natural beauty.
