This week in La Guarida

La Guarida dedicates the fourth week of June to Argentina, its music, its films and its culture. Don’t forget that we serve breakfast from 9 AM to 1 PM, Monday through Friday. We have also inaugurated our new gallery called “El Tiestero.” Come and check out Maestro Eduardo Segovia’s work in a fantastic new exhibit. Breakfast and art. Come join us.

Tuesday 6:30 PM – Zama.
Zama, an officer of the Spanish Crown born in South America, waits for a letter from the king that will grant him a transfer from the town, in which he is stagnating, to a better place. His situation is delicate, and he must ensure that nothing overshadows his transfer. He is forced to submissively accept every task entrusted to him by successive governors, who come and go as he stays behind.

Wednesday 6:30 PM – Won’t You Be My Neighbor?
Filmmaker Morgan Neville examines the life and legacy of Fred Rogers, the beloved host of the popular children’s television show Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood. An insightful and wonderful documentary.

Thursday 7:15 PM. Admission $7. Music from Argentina with Bolívar Sarmiento and Esteban Arizaga. Bolivar and Esteban are two incredibly talented musicians. This is a concert you don’t want to miss. Come and learn more about Argentina’s rhythms – will highlight tango and of course will pay tribute to the legendary tango singer Carlos Gardel. La Guarida’s acoustics are perfect for this very intimate musical journey.

Friday Happy Hour beginning at 3 PM. No reservations necessary. Choripan.
Choripan is a good example of a portmanteau. The word comes from chorizo (sausage) and pan (bread) – choripan. Who can resist this incredible treat? On top, we’ll be having very special prices on all of our Malbec bottles. Wine, bread and sausage make a perfect afternoon.

June 21st, from 9 AM to 1 PM, Free, Mariscal Lamar y Luis Pauta, Cuenca.
