This Week in La Guarida

La Guarida dedicates this week to Mexico, its music, its films and its culture. Don’t forget that we serve breakfast from 9 AM to 1 PM, Monday through Friday. Come join us.

Tuesday 6:30 PM – Macario.
Macario is a poor, hungry peasant, with a wife and several children, who sells wood in the town. Fed up with a life full of hardships, Macario longs for a good meal. In an attempt to satisfy his wishes, his wife steals a turkey and cooks it for him, but before starting to eat, he receives a visit from the Devil, God, and Death, who ask him to share his turkey.

On Wednesday at 6:30 PM, we continue our film projections as well. We’ll be showing ‘A Single Man.’ This film is an American masterpiece directed by Tom Ford with stellar performances by Colin Firth and Julianne Moore.

Thursday 7:15 PM. Admission $7. Music from México with Joan Rodriguez and Alejandra Mosquera. Alejandra and Joan join us together for the first time. They will be highlighting Mexico’s music with a diverse repertoire. A unique evening filled with traditional Mexican rhythms, a musical journey you cannot miss.

Friday Happy Hour beginning at 3 PM. No reservations necessary. Fish Tacos.
The taco is Mexico’s most beloved food. A simple and yet delicious treat. We will be highlighting this incredible dish and use the best seafood provided by Cuenca Salmon.

Friday 4 PM. The Kokopelli Moonlighters. Admission $7.
Come and enjoy this wonderful musical trio. Dinner reservations are not necessary. In fact, we will be serving wonderful fish tacos and margaritas.

Saturday 5 PM. El Tiestero’s Gallery opening. This event is by invitation only.

Sunday Breakfast. La Guarida will open for Father’s Day. Come enjoy breakfast with us – your second omelet will be discounted $5. Don’t miss this special, special breakfast.
