Please go to our website, www.elmundoorganico.com, to make your “Build-Your-Own” Basket” selections. (The list is now too long to be published here on GringoPost.)
We work with several organic farms within a 30-minute drive radius from Cuenca, where most of our organic products are picked fresh the morning they are delivered to you as well, as for our store.
While we will always try to locate and select organic food items as the first option for your “Basket”, many fruits and vegetables are seasonal. If any fruits and vegetables listed on our website are marked with an asterisk (*), this means that the items may be either organic or natural, as available. “Natural”, for our purposes, means the product is grown following an organic methodology, but the soil cannot be certified yet as “organic”.
The beef products come from grass-fed cattle that have not been treated with growth hormones or antibiotics. The Paiche fish has been “farm-raised”. The free-range eggs are from hens that are not raised with, nor have they been in contact with, roosters (no chance of receiving a fertilized egg).
All of the King’s Smokehouse products are smoked using applewood and are cured naturally with spices. No sodium nitrate, other chemicals, or “liquid smoke” is used in the preparation of these products. These products are kept and delivered frozen to ensure their freshness.
In addition to a variety of fruits and vegetables, other organic products we offer include such items as hand, face and body creams and soaps, deodorant, peanut butter, liquid and bar shampoos, honey products, vinegars (with the mother), several types of organic wines (Merlot, Rosé, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, and Tempranillo–a red blend), several olive oils (different sizes and infusions with fine herbs), olives, chocolate bars, coffee and tea, and much more.
Other healthy and environmentally-conscious products available in our store (also available for delivery with your “Basket”) include lactose-free almond milk; gluten-free snacks, cereals, cookies, granola and baking ingredients; vegan/vegetarian barbeque sauces; balsamic vinegar; sugar-free cookies; and gluten-free protein bars and powders. We also offer biodegradable cleaning products, laundry detergent and fabric softener.
If you are looking for Essential Oils, you will find Young Living Essential Oils and doTerry Essential Oils on our shelves. Other products include:
(a) Tracy’s Treasures spices, honey mustard, spicy mustard and teriyaki marinade;
(b) La Mía sauerkraut (red and white), goat cheeses, dill pickles;
(c) BYOB trail mix in two bag sizes, a Nutella-style artisanal spread (Crema Untable de Choco Avellana), smooth and crunchy peanut butter, cacao nibs, and Dr. Abeeja Honey products.
Unfortunately, we quickly sold out of our “Angry Serbian” prepared horseradish, but we are hoping to have some back in our store soon.
We will soon be carrying biodegradable paper products and natural cat and dog foods as well as medicinal tinctures and powders.
As we continue to add more and more healthy (and some more “decadent” taste treats) and gift items, we will be advertising them here in GringoPost and on our website, www.elmundoorganico.com.
We will soon have an online ordering capability to make it easier for you to order any products we carry in our store for home delivery.
