Inti Raymi in Chobshi/Sigsig

Come celebrate Inti Raymi with us in Chobshi, and stay at Hosteria El Barranco in Sigsig on Sunday and Monday, June 20 – 21st. The Sigsig Department of Tourism and the Gobierno Provincial of Azuay have put together a weekend festival full of activities to celebrate the Winter Solstice and Harvest.

Sunday, June 20

Agro-producer market
The sale of fruits, vegetables, and other organic products from the Choshi area
Arts and Trades sale
The sale of handicrafts, carpentry and mental artwork/pieces

10 AM
Tourist walk from the Chobshi museum, to the Pailon, and ending at the Kingor Lagoon
(2 Hours)

1 PM
Traditional dance and Andean Music


Monday, June 21

Inti Raymi Ritual Ceremony
The Ritual of gratitude to the Earth for the harvest which is guided by a Shaman.

1 PM
Pachamanca
Lunch with food that was cooked inside the earth with burning rocks and covered with
leaves.
Once finished cooking, lunch is served.

At Hosteria El Barranco, we will have Hatha yoga available for those who would like to enhance their spiritual celebration.

Rooms are $65 per night for double occupancy and $45 per night for single occupancy.

Breakfast is included with your stay.
A three-course dinner is available for $20 per person.
Hatha Yoga will begin at 4:30 on Sunday and Monday afternoon; $5 per person.

Round trip transportation from Cuenca to Sigsig and transportation to the festival is available upon request.
