My comments:
Cuenca to Quito – The plane was pretty full … middle seats vacant … LATAM … No Covid19 testing necessary.
The next three legs of the trip were all United.
Quito to Houston … again pretty full with middle seat being empty. Quito airport was not busy.
Houston to Newark … facemasks were mandatory at the airport. Not very busy. No big deal entering the US with a US passport. The plane was about 15% to 20% full … plenty of room for social distancing (and sleep).
Newark to Dublin … large jumbo jet with about 40 passengers (at most). Plenty of space for social distancing and sleep.
Arrival in Dublin and not much activity there either. No issues on entering since I have an Irish passport.
I have to undertake to self-quarantine here in Dublin for 14 days.
Overall, not an unpleasant trip. I was hesitant about the journey but it ended up being no big deal.
