Donate to help vulnerable Cuencanos with food, personal care items or…

If you would like to assist needy Cuencanos who are going hungry and are unable to purchase vitally needed personal care items, the Twitter group #DonaExperanza is raising funds throughout Latin America.

The local organizer here in Cuenca, physician Jonatan Ávila, has established a collection point for donated items at Clemente Yerovi, at the side of mercado 12 de Abril on Saras opposite Al Natural Bio Market, to the east of Clinica La Paz.

Needed items are:

Non-perishable food such as canned goods, dried noodles, canned tuna, cooking oil, rice, beans.
Personal care items such as bars of soap, shampoo, sanitary pads, diapers, rubbing alcohol, gloves, or masks.

If you would prefer to make a cash donation, there is a savings account at Cooperative JEP that will use all donations to purchase needed items. All donations to this account will be used locally here in Cuenca. If you have a bank account here in Cuenca and can use online banking, you should be able to make this donation electronically. Otherwise you may go to any bank branch here and give them the following account information:
