First time for everything, right? It was dark and I must have dropped my wallet in the back seat or on the floor of the taxi, not realizing it until Saturday morning. I will follow up with a couple of possibilities…the guards at the location where I was picked up, the Chauffeurs Union where lost items are sometimes turned in to, and watch this site in case someone posts that they found it.
Some good news, now, foreigners can request the ecuadorian ID card, cédula, here in Loja at the Registro Civil office, but, still, you need to bring the Cedula Order (Orden De Cedulación) from Azogues, Machala or any other Human Mobility office in Ecuador.
So, to do the Orden De Cedulacion, you have to put together:
– Original Passport
– Passport Copy
– Ecuadorian visa copy
– If you have a visa based on your retirement funds, a copy of the social security letter, apostilled… can be the last one you showed for the visa process, if your visa is based on an investor visa based on a property, an updated certificate from the PROPERTY REGISTRAR OFFICE or an updated copy from the Bank or Credit Union where you have your CD.
– Cedula order form, can be downloaded from here https://www.cancilleria.gob.ec/…/formulario-cedula… filled in computer and in upper cases

We found him walking in front of traffic and then walking down the middle of a busy street in El Vergel, holding up traffic in both directions. Vet (Dr. Diego Arciniegas of Veterinaria Arciniegas in El Vergel) thinks he’s about 14. The vet gave him an ultrasound which confirms his general good health. He walks with a pronounced limp, which the vet confirmed is due to an old injury (broken leg bone that reknit badly). He is missing all his teeth. He received intravenous hydration and is being treated with pain pills, vitamins and glucosamine. He appeared clean when we found him, suggesting he might have a home? He is very sweet-tempered. His name is Tuki Shalom the parrot, he came to us in May, 2020. When we saw him, he was losing some feathers and was greatly injured on his head, so we took him under our wing and raised him, we built a huge cage and never cut his feathers. He was used to going with us to the garden with no cage. He was most of the time free.
Today he was on the balcony with us and seemed like something spooked him so he started flying above the house in circles so we started calling him and he didn´t turn around. We suppose he landed nearby. We put up flyers and said to our neighbors to contact us if they see him. We hope he will come back soon just like he came to us. If anyone reading finds any information about him, please let us know!

This little 6-7 week-old kitten showed up at my home meowing and very hungry. He looks very healthy and very clean. He loves attention shows no fear of my dogs (Rotties) and enjoyed a bath from the female. He loves being held and if I didn’t already have 7 full grown babies I would keep him. Unfortunately, due to their ages it would be a huge disruption in the clan and I would fear for his safety.

My husband lost his Motorola smartphone yesterday (Monday) morning. He’s quite sure it fell out of his pocket as he was exiting the cab we took after grocery shopping. We don’t know the name/number of the driver/taxi, but we were picked up at Supermaxi el Vergel and dropped at Edf. Santa Maria on Agustin Cueva. The driver looked to be in his 20s, maybe early 30s. The Covid partition in his cab was a solid black material, not plastic or plexiglass as many are. My TC Helicon Voicetone effects pedal, along with my Sennheiser (black) microphone, and about 5 music cables, were stolen from my car on Saturday night; my car was broken into. If you happen to see these items being sold used at a music store, or anywhere else, please let me know.
The vocal effects pedal is not available for purchase here, so if you see it, it’s almost certainly mine. I bought this 15+ years ago, along with the microphone, in the US It’s a sad loss for me. I don’t have much hope of recovering these items, but thought I’d post this just in case.

We are asking anyone in the Ordonez Lasso area to keep an eye out for Kira, a 1-year old, small, black Schnauzer. She’s about 16 inches (35 cm) tall and weighs about 15 pounds (7 kgs). She’s a female, is very friendly and affectionate with people, and usually responds to her name. She does not have a collar or any other identification.
She was last seen on Tuesday morning, when it is suspected that she may have gotten out of her fenced yard, and was chased down the street and away by other. more aggressive dogs. Her family misses her very much.
Here is a recent photo of her with longer hair. She has since gotten a typical Schnauzer haircut: short on the top/back.
