Sticky sweet & spicy chicken

One of my favorite dishes to make and eat. When it’s made just right, the garlic, chilies and honey stick to each other and get a bit crispy. It goes perfectly with the savory diced chicken. This dish can be as spicy or not as you like. It’s a must try.

Organic bone broth

Mother and Son Family Kitchen has been delivering soups and meals in Cuenca for almost 6 years. It’s no secret that we use broth on almost all of our dishes.

When it comes to making soups, the stock that you use is the most important ingredient. Poorly flavored stock will ruin the entire pot of soup. For soups, homemade broth is always the best choice.

We slow-cooked our broth in small batches using only organic veggies and bones from grass-fed beef, organic feed pork and free-range chicken. Drinking bone broth has good health benefit.

Available in beef, chicken and pork for $5 per pint.

We also make turkey broth; $6 a pint with minimum of 6 pints per order.

Looking for volunteer English Teachers

Unique opportunity to volunteer your time and make a difference: Primok English School in Cañar is recruiting volunteer teachers to teach English to students in Cañar during the 12-week session beginning in July. Classes are held each Saturday morning for four hours. Students range in age from about 6 to 17 years in age.

Cañar is a small town located about 1½ hours from Cuenca. It is at a higher altitude than Cuenca so if altitude bothers you, you probably shouldn’t volunteer. It is also somewhat cooler so dressing for warmth is a good idea.

This is also our last event at our current location. After the exhibition today, we will be closing our doors until the Grand Opening at our new location on June 8.

Vision Statement
St. Christopher Episcopal Mission

St. Christopher’s Episcopal Mission (SCEM), in a collaborative successful partnership with Mision Sagrada Familia, will be a welcoming gathering place, a spiritual center in Cuenca and the surrounding neighborhood of a theologically humble group of believers worshipping God, meeting Jesus and demonstrating the practical love of Jesus to members, visitors and the poor.

Through action, SCEM will demonstrate what it means to be a follower of Jesus with a commitment to serve those in need by doing good works quietly, without fanfare or notice while fulfilling the question “what would Jesus do”?

SCEM will be a growing force for good in the community, known for outreach ministry.

SCEM, with the help of a Priest will offer Christian educational activities for spiritual growth through liturgical worship, group discussions, learning, and education filled with the Spirit of God’s love for us in our loving hearts and minds.

Visitors will experience Christ centered individuals within an inclusive, multi-cultural, bi-lingual, and multi-generational worshipping community of believers, with close bonds between members, committed to social justice while helping others.

SCEM offers an Episcopal liturgical worship service and experience to the community.

Organic bone broth delivery!

Tuesday to Sunday noon to 5 PM delivery, Jazz Society Cafe, Los Cedros y Los Claveles ( one block North of Ordonez Lasso)
