I am a UK national married (in Ecuador) to an Ecuadorian national and I am planning to apply for the Amparo visa but have a few questions – can anyone help?
1. We have an interview date, but want to know if the Ministry will take my original passport from me on that day as part of the application process? (reason I am asking is I need to travel overseas within one week of interview date)
2. How does it normally take for the Ministry to make the decision after the interview has been completed? 1 week/2weeks/etc…?
3. Is there a time limit on submitting the application and getting the criminal record background check documentation notarized? For example: if I have the notarized documents, can I apply in 6 months or do I have to apply within 3 months of the date on the notarized background check document?
