A premature birth, a struggling father, and a community that cares.
Every morning, Alex stands on the corner, selling books and candy to survive. Despite his struggles, he always greets us with a smile. But this time, his eyes filled with tears:
“My grandson was born… but he needs oxygen to survive.”
María, his 19-year-old daughter, had given birth prematurely. With no money left, they faced an impossible reality: paying $25 a day for oxygen or watching Baby Ian struggle to breathe.
At GRACE, Give Refugees a Chance: we couldn’t stand by. We delivered an oxygen machine, food, and baby essentials—because no family should have to choose between survival and their next meal.
Weeks later, María attended our 7th Baby Shower for Migrant Mothers—a day of joy, support, and relief for moms facing the hardships of displacement.
