Cuenca artist, Maria Ochoa, has spent months learning the origins and nuances of the Ecuadorian folktales and legends she has heard throughout her upbringing. During her research, she found some very interesting things that surprised her and inspired the creation of her newest series of Mampuchos, which are her art dolls based on those stories.
In this Saturday Salon, Maria will share some of the tales and surprises she found. Then she will talk about her personal artistic process for making the Mampuchos, followed by a guided tour of her art exhibition where you can see her incarnations and ask questions about the dolls and their stories.
This is going to be an incredible Salon and we’re very excited about it. The salon with be translated into English by our very own, Sarah HB!
