This 5-week studio course will cover the three basic methods of hand building – pinch, slab, and coil techniques. Students will create a range of work varying from functional ware to sculptural forms. All levels of experience welcome.
Participants will learn the basic vocabulary of ceramics as well as methods of surface treatment, glazing, firing, and other related aspects. Elements and principles of art (e.g. form, texture, movement, contrast) will be introduced and explored through individual choices of projects. All materials used are high quality USA imported clay, glazes and decorative stains.
