$100 empowers families, saves $1,000s!
Every child deserves the best opportunities that we can give them. Donors to the Cuenca Soup Kitchen’s Hygiene drive acted on this. These are just a few of the mothers and children who have already benefited from their generosity.
Because misinformation about infant care is prevalent in our beneficiary population, the kits were distributed following a workshop presented by Dr. Maïté Depreeuw. In addition to providing information on child care, Dr. Maïté addressed the specific questions and concerns of the mothers.
Following the presentation the mothers were instructed on the care and benefits of the diaper kits. When they learned that this $100 gift would mean that they would never have to buy another disposable diaper, their surprise and joy were palpable! They knew their tight budgets were going to be able to stretch further.
A very special thank you to Dr. Maïté Depreeuw for donating her time and expertise, to GelWear for providing a discount, to Cari Serrano of Hearts of Gold Foundation for scheduling the event, to Jeri Dwyer for spearheading this project, and to the donors who make it possible!
