Long weekend – Do you have plans? Cuenca Car Share

Today is May 24 – The Commemoration of the Battle of Pichincha that won Ecuador’s independence from the Spanish rule. This year the holiday will be celebrated on May 26, making it a long weekend. The battle was very bloody, 101 years ago – back in 1822 – when it was fought on the slopes of the Pichincha volcano, 3,500 meters above sea-level, next to the city of Quito. Cuenca is only 2500 meters above sea level. Winning that battle meant freedom for Ecuador.

Since it is a long weekend and some businesses and banks will be closed, some of you may be wondering what to do. Why not rent a car and venture out into the countryside where you can enjoy fresh air, relaxing views, and have time to yourselves. Cuenca Car Share has vehicles available. Contact me at my website or by email or phone.
