This Weekend at Pàjaro y Bestia

Trying something new this week. A Guy Fieri dish that was on his menu at Tex Wasabi for 18 years. He had a Gringo Sushi section in his menu, and called this dish Jackass Roll. (Yes, really. Look up the recipe on the Food Network website, or search for the Tex Wasabi menu).

Rice paper, filled with sushi rice, pulled pork, French fries, and avocado. Then sliced up like a sushi roll.
So, let’s roll the dice on this one.

** Fried Onion Hamburger
** High on the Hog Sandwich (pulled pork)
** Smoked chicken wings
** Jackass Roll

** Slow smoked pork spareribs
** Mystery meat

** Mac & Cheese
** Mustard Potato Salad
** Black Beans with Honey and Rum
** Coleslaw

** Tres Leches Torte

** Soda, Iced Tea, Beer, Wine

OK, mystery meat is not as ominous as it sounds. We are cleaning out the freezer for a 200+ pound rib purchase. So, we have small amounts of various beef, pork and chicken cuts that we did not use all of when it was on the menu. There will only be 2 or 3 portions of anything, so it is not worth putting on the menu and getting someone´s hopes up. So just ask your server what kind of madness I am serving at that moment.

593 Beer remains on special at 2 for $3. Worth a trip just for the beer special.

And the smart money is betting on the Tres Leches Torte. We cannot take credit for making our desserts, but we can take credit for buying the best in town.
