Today, our social worker, Valeria, met with Accion Social of the Municipality of Cuenca to work with them on a response to the emergency in Alausi. They have started a collection program and we will be coordinating it with them to make sure the people affected get exactly what they need.
We will be in regular communication with the municipality and the people of Alausi to make sure your support goes to exactly where it is needed most. To donate to the people of Alausi, please click the link below.
We believe they are in the best position to coordinate aid and have the expertise and equipment to bring the support from the expat community. It is best that groups stay out of the area and allow the municipal authorities coordinate the support and cleanup efforts.
