We made a mistake in our most recent post about the Saturday Salon: Women Artists, Then and Now. The date is Saturday, March 18, at 7 PM!
March is a month to celebrate and recognize women. In that spirit, we have a series of events that will benefit the local women’s shelter and their project, Mujeres con Éxito. One is the Saturday Salon…
Our Saturday Salon this month is called “Women Artists, Then and Now”. This salon is a slideshow presentation featuring works of art created by women. Starting in 1610 with Artemisia Gentileschi and continuing through the present day, we will see works of women artists who have been recognized and many who are generally unknown. The slideshow has been created by Janda Grove, a working artist who has been studying art and involved in the arts since early in her life.

Janda Grove has been an oil painter for more than 30 years. She is from the U.S. and has lived in Ecuador for 10 years. She spearheaded the “Transferencia: Impressions of Cuenca” project in benefit of the Casa Maria Amor women’s shelter livelihood training program Mujeres Con Exito. To learn more, visit jandagrove.com
*this month we will have our salon just as the sun goes down so we can see the slideshow presentation clearly. It should last 2 hours or less. We will call cabs for those who need one.
**complimentary coffee and hot tea
