Cake Decorating Workshop

In this 3-hour class, you will learn the basics of cake decorating as well as how to make 3 different icings. Each participant will receive a beginner kit with decorating tips, coupler, and bag. You will learn the initial techniques for each tip including writing, shell border, drop flowers, roses, and leaves. You will ice a 6″ round cake and decorate it for Easter. You will also learn piping techniques for cupcakes.

Deb Gienau is a Wilton Methods Instructor with over 35 years of cake decorating experience. She has also run a commercial bakery for a grocery store. She has made all her grandchildren’s birthday cakes with themes of WWE wrestling, Marvel’s superheroes, Lilo and Stitch, Frozen’s Elsa, and Survivor for 20 years. She lives in Connecticut and she and her husband spend 3 months in Cuenca each winter.

*The cakes will be pre-made in order to focus on the decorating rather than the baking portion of the class. Deb will share the cake recipe with those who want it.
