Many of us know German Zhina as a trustworthy taxi driver, visa, cedula and doctor appointment assister, handyman and overall great guy.
What you may not know is that on February 13, he got into a bad taxi accident driving back through the Cajas. He has hospital and ongoing doctor bills to pay plus about $7000 for taxi repairs as getting the original car parts isn’t as easy as in the States.
I have arranged a fundraiser lunch for German with the very accommodating owner of the Black Angus at Gonzalo Cordero 1-53 y Solano, across from Monte Sinai hospital on March 9 at 12:30.
The set menu includes hamburgers and pasta with a variety of toppings plus a grilled vegetable sandwich. Cash bar.
For complete transparency, the price is $25: $5 to Black Angus and the rest to German.

In my six plus years living in Cuenca I have seen the expat community rally for various causes. I am hopeful this will bring a big turnout too!
