My husband and I have been in Cuenca for 14 months. In about a month we have 15 siblings and cousins coming for a week. They are mostly professionals who enjoy cultural activities. Needless to say we want them to have a memorable vacation.
So far we’ve planned the following:
The Cathedral
Double decker tour bus
Walk through flower market, Plaza San Francisco, Casa de la Mujer, etc.
10 de Agosto market with lunch there
Pumapongo Museum
Museum of modern art
Turi
Piedra de Agua Santa
Walk by Tomebamba and Yanuncay
Day trip to the Cajas with meal at Dos Churros
Day trip to Gualaceo- Ecuagenera and Casa de la makana, and Chordeleg.
For restaurants I have Raymipampa, El Capitan, Anubis, Negroni, Le Petit Jardin, Manggiare Bene.
Are there any places you can recommend that you consider iconic?
Any restaurants you can recommend?
Also I need to find a tour guide and van that can accommodate 15 people. Which tour and tour guides have you used and been happy with?
