Recommendation for pedicure in Cuenca
I have become virtually addicted to the manicures and especially the pedicures given by a wonderful young mother from Myanmar/Burma, Zo Din Mawii. She is married to a British-Ecuadorian.
Zo’s pedicures are complete, involving an excellent massage of your feet and lower legs. Not only are the tendons and muscles relaxed, but also a number of meridians (from Chinese medicine) are stimulated and released. There are perhaps 6 meridians that either originate or terminate in the feet: the Stomach, Spleen, Gall Bladder, Liver, Kidney, and Bladder. Although not trained in Chinese medicine, Zo gives massages that release all of these. The feeling after her pedicures is one of lightness and freedom.
Zo works by herself, speaks excellent English, and charges only $25 for a 2- to 2 and 1/2-hour manicure (which also includes a hand massage, no polish) and pedicure. Anyone, woman or man, who prefers short nails and the extraordinary relaxation of a brilliant pedicure might want to give her a try. I go at least once a month.
