We are excited to announce that our next art exhibition at idiomART is a fundraiser to help raise money for the Cuenca Soup Kitchen!
We will have artwork by Burt Johnson, Evelyn Johnson, Juan Garcia, Peter Dudar, Alberto Soriano, Maité Eusebio, Margot Manosalvas, Susan Armstrong, Cristian Leon and Pedro Pablo Tocabens. We will also have an incredible musical presentation by local opera singer, Christian Castro!
The Cuenca Soup Kitchen has been committed to providing food to those most in need for over five years.
CSK provides food for approximately 1,000 hungry people. Each family in our program is screened and followed by a social worker. As they reach stability they are transitioned out of the program, making room for others in need.
In addition to food CSK provides:
– Eco-friendly hygiene products for women and babies
– Donated clothing and household items
– Hats and other warm and soft clothing for babies, the elderly, cancer patients
– Birthday recognition for every child in our program
In addition to our partnerships that serve families within the city of Cuenca, the Cuenca Soup Kitchen reacts to urgent needs. Sometimes this need is created by natural disasters such as flooding and landslides. In these cases the CSK provides food and hygiene products as communities work towards stabilization.
The exhibition is until Feb. 2
The opening is Thursday, Jan. 19 from 6 – 8 PM at idiomART. Free entrance,
Mariscal Lamar 14-25 y Estevez de Toral
