Abya Viva: One Blood, One Voice

In this open dialogue, you will get the chance to listen to and meet inspiring leaders from the Andes to the Amazon who are working to conserve the astounding biodiversity and cultural heritage of Ecuador.

Speakers:

German Solano – Andean leader who is a part of a local cooperative of 40+ families in the Oña area who conserve over 11,000 hectares of forest, which includes an endemic frog species. Learn how he and his community are working to conserve and protect the biodiversity of their forest in an effort to help us move towards a healthier planet for all.


Diana Chavez – Young leader form the Amazon who directs the the Escuelas Vivas Amazonicas project (Amazonian Living Schools), which seeks to teach the young people in the region to care for and be environmental and cultural stewards.

Esteban Valdivia – Musicologist / anthropoligist from Argentina living in the northern Ecuadorian Andes who is the founder and director of the International School of Ancestral Sounds, which is dedicated to sharing the rich pre-Colombian musical history of the Americas in an effort to safeguard and herald the rich cultural heritage of the people.

Abya Viva is the voice and life of peoples in the Americas and a new alliance that seeks to empower leaders in highly Biodiverse communities.
