JJ was literally thrown out of the gate of the home that he had probably grown up in. The old lady lives in a shack of a house and said she didn’t want him. He ran across the street stopping 5 feet from the sidewalk, and just stood there. I chased him back to the other sidewalk where I had been walking, put the yoga strap on for a lead (I’d just bought). He ran to the gate of the only home he knew and his mother dog was lying next to the gate looking at him with her under the 4” space between the solid bottom of the gate and the dirt driveway and she was crying. He was trying to get through the gate and he too was crying!
I was finally able to pull him out and get him to come with me. I tried to get a taxi, but the empty ones just passed us by. Finally, one stopped and told me he would not take a dog. I walked him back to where I could sit down and figure out what to do next. He continued to cry on and off and trembled often. We went to vet Dr. Gallardo (a prince among vets). JJ was full of fleas and some ticks too.
He weighs a bit over 11 kg. So, he is not a big dog, but he is beautiful and about 2-years-old. He let me kiss and hold him and I even opened his mouth to see his teeth. His teeth are clean, his ears and eyes too. He was bathed with shampoo that kills fleas and ticks. He’s been given medicine for de-worming and parasites just in case. Today he was neutered. He is a wonderfully sweet little guy who now needs loving good care.
Could you be JJ’s new family? Please reach out for a meet and greet!
