Jean McCord is now out of the hospital after surgery at Santa Ines. Her friends at the Cuenca Writers Collective and throughout Cuenca would like to thank everyone who generously donated to her fund-raising campaign. We were able to raise enough funds to pay for her surgery thanks to help from Soledad Riquetti, owner of La Yunta restaurant.
Jean and her friends are all incredibly grateful for the amazing display of support in her hour of need. Thank you also to Dr. Romulo Idrovo, Jean’s orthopedic surgeon who performed the third surgery at Santa Ines.
Jean still faces a long recuperation after three surgeries and has to learn to walk all over again. She will need to have 24-hour caregivers for the next 4-6 weeks.
