This month’s Patio Sessions is truly special. The sounds of the Andes are part of the mystique that we all love about being in Cuenca. This concert highlights those captivating sounds and emotions.
This concert highlights the charango, which is an Andean stringed instrument that has a unique sound emblematic of Andean music. Ali Medina is one of Ecuador’s finest and has been selected to represent the country in the International Charango Festival in Cusco, Peru! This concert series is to showcase the instrument and the flavors of Andean music as well as help raise funds for his travels south. He will be joined on stage by Jorge Aguirre (charango and other instruments), Gaby Carrión (guitar) and Carlos Orozco (percussion).
