YapaFest Outdoor Music and Artisan Festival is coming, July 16

You may be familiar with the word Yapa. When shopping a local mercado, a vendor with often give you a little more than you expected. That little extra is Yapa. Yapa is a Quichua word meaning to give a little extra, and Yapa can refer to both material and immaterial things. It is spring in Ecuador and it is time for us as a community to join together to enjoy a day in the outdoors and give a little extra… our attention to the arts.

On Saturday July 16th, beginning at 11 AM and running till 5 PM, La Yunta is hosting YapaFest 2022, an outdoor music and artisan festival and benefit. There will be four bands spreading joyful music. Artisan vendors will be on hand with their own handmade creations including craftwork and take away food goodies. Also, Helping Kids In Ecuador will be on hand with information on their work.

And here is the Great News. The event is Free.

Let’s join together as a community of friends to support the arts and spread love in this time of need.

Don’t expect high production, this event is just about artisans sharing the creations they have made and musicians playing on the grass.
