Mexico revives a 3,000-year-old ball game [short video]

From BBC Reel…
In Mexico, a group of athletes are on a mission to revive an ancient sporting tradition – a tribute to the game once enjoyed by their ancestors.

Thought to be approximately 3,000 years old, the Mesoamerican ballgame ‘Juego de Pelota’ could be one of the oldest team sports in the world. It was once played by the Aztecs, Maya and Incas and carries ancient cultural and religious significance.

It was only when Spanish conquistadors banned the game in the 16th Century did the game fade into legend.

Toy poodle

After researching, would like to get a toy poodle (real poodle). Puppy preferred but adult an option. They weigh 6 to 10 pounds when fully grown and I would like to have a dog small enough that it can fit in a doggie backpack, and that I am strong enough to carry so it can enjoy Cuenca with me. Also wanted this breed due to wanting less allergic pet option.

Looking for information regarding transportation from GYE to Cuenca

I have a family of 5 scheduled to fly into GYE on Sunday afternoon, June 26th. They are concerned about getting a van to Cuenca. Does anyone know of transportation services from GYE airport to a hotel on the coast?

Please email me if you have any information or suggestions.

Ecuador a safe destination, by Bluebox

Ecuador a safe destination.

In recent weeks, speculation about Ecuador has spread and our valued affiliates have also received alarming news from their countries of residence and warnings about traveling to Ecuador.

Ecuador is one of the favorite retirement destinations for North Americans and other foreigners, but the bad reputation of insecurity could turn the dream of a comfortable retirement to the uncertainty of the insecurity of a Latin American country, I am Ecuadorian, and I understand that the current situation is delicate, but it does not reach the point of being alarming, a worldwide wave of murders and insecurity has been unleashed and we can observe it by the last shootings in the USA and other violent acts in different regions of the globe,

I know an Ecuadorian woman (Dolores) who is looking for work as a housekeeper to help feed her family. She is currently working part time with Hearts of Gold, but needs more work. She speaks quite good English and is definitely a hard worker. Please give her a call!
