This week at La Guarida

‘Fiestas de Cuenca’ have arrived and La Guarida is ready to celebrate! This week, we have scheduled two great films and will be hosting two outstanding and very unique concerts besides preparing incredible and delicious dishes.

Come and enjoy Comfort & Happy Hour, every Friday and Saturday from 5 to 9 PM.

Join us for brunch: Tuesday to Saturday from 9 AM to 1 PM. Organic produce and eggs are key for a great breakfast; a fresh brewed batch of coffee every time.

April 12th (Tuesday, 6:45 PM). Summer of Soul.
We are proud to show this years’ Best Documentary -without a doubt-. During the summer of 1969, over the course of six weeks, thousands of people attended the Harlem Cultural Festival to celebrate Black history, culture, music, and fashion and the result is simply amazing and historic. A film you don’t want to miss.

April 13th (Wednesday, 6:45 PM). Boiling Point.
On the busiest night of the year, at one of the hottest restaurants in London, charismatic and commanding head chef Andy Jones balances along a knife’s edge multiple personal and professional crises that threaten to destroy everything he’s worked for. A surprise visit from a health and safety inspector sets the staff on edge as the overbooked hot spot fills with guests. Jones tries his best to diffuse tensions between management and crew while catering to the ridiculous demands of customers. A film with a simply perfect Tomatometer score.

April 14th (Thursday, 7:30 PM). Bolivar Sarmiento and Pedro Arizaga.
This year, Bolivar Sarmiento was recognized by the Ecuadorian government as a national treasure and as one of the best guitarist in the country. He visits La Guarida again and this time is joined by Pedro Arizaga who brings his bandoneon. They will pay tribute to Argentinian music (especially tango). Two incredible musicians playing a very exclusive and intimate concert. Admission: $10.00. (100% of your admission fee goes directly to the musicians).

April 16th (Saturday at 7:30 PM): Latin American Songwriters with Diego Sojo and Kike Pacherres.
Costa Rican singer songwriter, Diego Sojo joins us for the first time; Kike Pacherres will join him for a very special and unique concert highlighting Latin American sounds and themes. Come support these extremely talented local musicians. Admission: $7.00 (100% of your admission fee goes directly to the musicians). Reservations with dinner are not required for this specific event.
