Gran Roca, Wednesday Farm-to-Table Market at Los Balcones

Come to the Gran Roca Wednesday Farm-to-Table Market from Noon – 2 PM at Los Balcones (Only 4 blocks from Parque Calderon). You can come as early as 11:30 AM and enjoy a nice lunch in a lovely setting, meet others with similar interests, ask questions about our farming practices and future plans, and then pick-up fresh items from Gran Roca to take home with you. We are working on a future Gran Roca farm-to-table lunch featuring our farm-fresh products.

We’ll be bringing our healthy, nutrient dense products from our commercial kitchen this week including our Greek plain and flavored yogurts, our popular granola with pumpkin seeds and cranberries, veggie burgers, homemade tahini, the best hummus, GF chocolate chip cookies, GF pumpkin spice muffins and salad dressings. We will again be previewing our vegan vegetable soup, holiday hot chocolate and celebration chai tea. Don’t miss out on the fun. Come on over and stay awhile.

We produce everything we sell on our sustainable permaculture farm in the Yunguilla Valley, about an hour southwest of Cuenca. Our wide variety of products, including fruits and vegetables, milk products, eggs, chicken, turkey, beef and pork, provide everything you need to give your family fresh, healthy, delicious meals.

All of our produce is harvested in the morning for purchase in the afternoon — only a few hours old. Now that’s fresh! We’ll be bringing special produce varieties not available anywhere else, like our heirloom tomatoes, rainbow chard, broccoli florets, striped and yellow beets, wax beans, English cucumbers, real spinach, special lettuces, curly kale, blue and purple dinosaur kale, daikon radishes, leeks, onions, sweet peppers, bok choy and more.

Our fresh herbs include lemon balm, onion chives, garlic chives, mustard greens, oregano, Italian parsley, peppermint, rosemary, sage, and thyme.

Our milk products include same-day raw milk, extra thick and creamy Greek plain and flavored yogurts and real mozzarella cheese.

Our pasture raised chicken and duck layers produce naturally orange egg yolks as they feed on grass, bugs and a ration we make on our farm.

If you are looking for the freshest, healthiest, best tasting pasture raised chicken, you have come to the right place. Our chickens are rotationally grazed on pasture, are also fed a ration that we make on our farm without antibiotics or hormones, are able to scratch in the soil, eat grass and bugs and see the natural cycles of day and night.

Our Turkeys are now available in 1/4 dark meat or 1/4 white meat which weigh 4-6 pounds. They are raised on pasture like our chickens and are freshly butchered.

Our premium pork and Charolais beef are rotationally grazed on pasture and are butchered to North American standards in our commercial kitchen with all the cuts you would expect to see in a butcher shop.

We have expanded our production on our commercial smoker that uses only our sustainably raised animals, (so you know the source and quality of what you are buying) to include: the best pork chorizo sausage, smoked pork ham hocks, smoked pork roasts, smoked pork half-rack ribs, smoked beef short ribs, smoked chicken or turkey big leg and thigh and our popular smoked chicken sausage patties.
