For those who have asked about Jack Hardy:
On December 2 Jack Hardy had breakfast with me at Sunrise café and reminded me that he would be leaving on Saturday, December 4 to visit with his Friend and administrator for his estate in Florida. On Sunday, December 10th, my wife Jean and I were at Dos Chorreras where I received two telephone calls telling me that Jack was in an ICU in Florida but I was asked not to tell anyone.
On December 13th, I received a call from Jack’s accountant/administrator telling me that Jack did not feel good when he arrived at the accountant’s house on December, 12. The morning of December 13, Jack told his friends that he did not feel good and was going for a walk before breakfast. About 6 blocks from the house, he had a seizure and was taken to a local hospital. When an autopsy was performed, it was found that a blood clot had interred his brain and that he had died instantly.
The accountant/administrator asked me not to tell anyone about his dying until all the paperwork could be presented to the courts and that an administrator was officially recognized by the courts.
Jack’s apartment and studio have been cleaned out and all his photographic equipment was given to the University of Cuenca.
There will be a memorial service at a later date.
