Help make a joyful Christmas at Mujeres Con Exito
Dear Friends of Mujeres con Ėxito,
As the holidays rapidly approach, we continue to work to meet the needs of the women and children we serve at Cuenca’s only women’s domestic violence safe haven.
Our mothers tell us they need shoes and clothes for their children, so we will add those to the packages with the children’s presents. That adds up to $50 for each child. Considering we have 200 children (including babies and toddlers) that is a whopping $10,000 but we have raised $3000. We will be using sales from these events to fund Christmas:
Carols, Cupcakes and Coffee Event on December 7, from 3 to 5 PM. This event has been cancelled.
If you were at our recent event, you heard the story of Jhon, Tranisto’s grandson. Several years ago, he watched as his mother fell down a flight of stairs and died. He suffered severe trauma as a result, particularly because he has epilepsy and falls as well. The little boy was afraid to go anywhere as he suffered from frequent episodes and falls. His grandmother, now taking care of him, was unable to get him the medication he needed as the hospital required that he see a child neurologist but neither one was available in the public hospital. The medications he was taking was not helping. We got him in to see a neurologist, properly diagnosed and on the proper medication. He is now a completely different boy. No longer suffers from falls. He is finally losing his fears.

It is in excellent condition and I had new brake pads installed and a new front tire put on. It also comes with Shimano XT clipless pedals and the original platforms. I loved the bike and am only selling because we moved back to the US. It is currently being held and sold at my bike mechanic’s shop, Podium Bikes, if you want to see it in person. The bike was around $1,700 new and the pedals were $150 in the US. I’m asking $800 negotiable. Photos available.
