Come see and smell what farm-to-table fresh food is like at Gran Roca’s Wednesday market at Matthew Bagels. Be careful, as you may learn that what you buy at stores and mercados really isn’t fresh.
At Gran Roca, we produce everything we sell on our sustainable permaculture farm in the Yunguilla Valley about an hour southwest of Cuenca. Our wide variety of products, including fruits and vegetables, milk products, eggs, chicken, beef and pork, provide everything you need to give your family fresh, healthy, delicious meals.
All of our produce is harvested in the morning for purchase in the afternoon only a few hours old. We’ll be bringing special produce varieties not available anywhere else like our heirloom tomatoes, rainbow chard, multi-colored carrots, Italian zucchini, broccoli florets, striped and yellow beets, wax beans, English cucumbers, real spinach, special lettuces, big, healthy curly kale, blue and purple dinosaur kale, daikon radishes, mixed color radishes, yellow yuca, zanahoria blanca, leeks, onions, sweet peppers, bok choy, Chinese cabbage, spaghetti squash and more.
Our fresh herbs include Italian basil, Thai basil, dill, onion chives, garlic chives, mustard greens, lemongrass, oregano, Italian parsley, curly parsley, peppermint, rosemary, sage, and thyme.
Our milk products include same-day raw milk, extra thick and creamy Greek yogurt and real mozzarella cheese.
Our pasture raised chicken layers produce naturally orange egg yolks as they feed on grass, bugs and a ration we make on our farm.
Our chicken broilers are also raised on pasture, processed in our commercial kitchen only hours before you buy them, and are the best tasting chickens you will find. Our chickens are larger, which make them a better buy, as larger chickens have a better meat-to-bone ratio than the skimpy chickens you find offered in stores.
Our beef and pork are raised on pasture and are butchered in our commercial kitchen to North American standards with all the cuts you would expect to see in a butcher shop.
