What’s going on in all the prisons in Ecuador is horrendous. This is the terrible reality of most prisons in Latin America. ‘Tropa de Elite,’ attempts to show how many of these problems are created. An incredible Brazilian film that highlights the actual security situation of Rio de Janeiro. Not enough resources from the government, a corrupt military, the political power of illicit bands and many other factors that make a dangerous cocktail of criminality and thus feeding the grave problem which afflicts all jails in Ecuador. A Latin American masterpiece.
Thursday, November 18th at 7:30 PM: Music of Ecuador. Admission: $8.
The talented Juan Manuel Ochoa joins Luis Carrión in a wonderful dinner-concert that will highlight Ecuadorian tunes. Ecuador is so rich musically and this is a musical journey that you don’t want to miss. Juan and Luis recently joined forces to celebrate Cuenca playing for thousands of Cuencanos during the holiday. We are proud to have them play an intimate show highlighting the best of Ecuador music.
