At idiomART, we have started a once a month concert series in our garden on a Sunday afternoon. This month, we got such a huge response, that we have opened up a morning show as well. We still have some spaces available, so please contact Sarah at firstname.lastname@example.org to reserve your seats.
The band performing this month is called “Ensamble al Sur” and they are made up of southern Ecuadorian musicians Jorge Aguirre (Cuenca), Yarik Quizhpe (Saraguro), Ali Medina y Gaby Carrión (Loja), who play Andean music, highlighting traditional instruments such as the charango and different Andean flutes like sikus, zampoñas and quenas. They are world renowned musicians who have played in international music festivals all over North and South America, Europe and Asia and they are considered cultural ambassadors of Ecuador and Latin America.
This is a must see concert as the majority of the band members don’t make it to Cuenca often, so they don’t have many shows here.
Sunday, Oct. 17. Doors open at 10 AM and music starts at 10:30 AM, $10, idiomART is located at: Presidente Cordova, between Miguel Angel Estrella y Manuel Vega (diagonal from Coral Centro downtown), Cuenca.
