It’s a clicker. A very useful tool in dog training. You press the orange button when your dog does something you like. And immediately afterwards (but not simultaneously) reward your dog. So simple, right?
So tell me: if someone rings a bell when you get the right answer and then gives you something you really like (I don’t know, what do you really like?), are you likely to repeat the behavior that made you so happy?
Exactly, and that’s the basis of clicker training.
And then, we give the behavior a name. And then, you’re launched.
If you’d like help training your dog, or even if you’re just curious about the technology, give me a call.
P.S. I hope the photo comes through – I’ve been having problems, hopefully now solved.
