Hello, I rescued Marty from the streets. He is a small dog who has been run over by a car on his right leg, he is a sweetheart and very friendly. I cannot keep him; I already have two dogs.
I called the vet and looks like he needs surgery, I´m not sure, but he cannot walk or press down his right leg. Any suggestions welcome for treatment until I find him a new home.

Every Friday at noon a group of Frisbee enthusiasts gather to enjoy life at Parque de la Madre for a lively exchange of Frisbees, sponsored by Cuenca Car Share. Those who can’t play are welcome to laugh and coach. Laughter is healthy exercise, too. Just show up – no registration required. We welcome any and all ages. Masks required, of course. Check out our pictures from previous Fridays as we enjoyed the grassy park and the antics of the little ones. See them on Facebook – search for Frisbee Friday. If it rains, wear rain gear. I wanted to make a special dinner for my partner and thought I’d stop by Luvimar to get some cheese. I walked out with a pound of Canadian salmon, 3 different types of cheeses, some gourmet tuna steaks, spicy green mango relish, red curry paste, a bottle of nice wine, and delicious vegan chocolate with sea salt and caramel that the owner let me try in-shop.
I was very pleasantly surprised with the variety of products compared to my last visit. There are more cheeses (get one of the blues or goudas!), more types of vinegars, oils, and sauces (including BBQ sauce, hot sauces, pesto, and Dijon), sauerkraut and pickles and olives, all kinds of nuts and organic honey, salami and other meats and plenty of seafood options…but the real standout here is the Asian line. My goodness, I thought it was impossible to find reasonably-priced products for Asian cooking, but Luvimar sells miso, tahini, plum sauce, sesame oil, teriyaki sauce, hoisin… even a few different types of wasabi.
The bilingual owner, Luis, has really stepped up his game. He had some great recommendations for me, and was very accommodating. Also – so nice to have multiple payment options. My partner loved the dinner, and I was thoroughly impressed with Luvimar. I will definitely be returning (or placing a delivery) and I can’t recommend this place enough.

I just noticed this morning that the new restaurant near us, Cappuccino, has changed their hours of operations – for the better, in my opinion. Their new hours are 10 AM to 9 PM. Their hours of operation used to be 1 to 9 PM. So now I can have a nice breakfast there at a reasonable hour, for me. They only have 4 entries on Trip Advisor from patrons who liked the restaurant/coffee shop + beer, wine and spirits. Their menu is attached in a photo. Just up the short hill from JD’s Muebles and same building as Bigotte Barber Shop and Men’s SPA. Look for the lime green umbrellas. Outside seating as well. I have not been able to get a decent photo of their menu but, they have just about everything from the usual breakfast menu, hot beverages, lunch, hamburgers, hot dogs, 14 different sandwiches, French fries, salads, cold drinks and a soft serve ice cream machine. For dinner they have lomo fino, pork, ribs, corvina or a mix of seafood. Not to mention adult beverages: wine, beer, rum, Pina Colada and one I do not recognize…Negro Peleon. Hope the menu photo comes out. This is their second location. Their first location, since 1986 is at Padre Aguirre and Simon Bolivar.
Aug. 25th. 10 AM to 9 PM, below the Dali Building on Miguel Morocho just a short walk from Gran Columbia (1/4 block).
