…It’s a marathon not a sprint

Okay, the great opportunity to practice Spanish is right in front of you, but suddenly you draw a blank and your brain switches to panic mode. Here we go again…the long list of verbs you posted on your bathroom mirror suddenly melts like Dali’s “camembert of time” painting.

When listening to a native Spanish speaker you are able to recognize the first words of the dialogue, however as you start to put them together, you find yourself lost in the middle of a strange language (tons of phonics plus a jungle of accents) Hmm, does this person speak faster than normal or maybe it is just you overwhelmed by frustration? Hmm, maybe both of them, but remember that acquiring a language is a marathon not a sprint.

Leave me a message if you want to make this marathon mentored by a teacher, I won’t do the hard work for you (sorry) but certainly I will encourage you to get your best while acquiring a second language.

You don’t need to be proficient to be understood: Man look, you’ve understood this post and I am not proficient in English (shhhhhh).

But for those who are fluent in Spanish and want to make progress to proficiency, wait for my next post on Monday!

Would you like to meet before we begin working with one other? I would love to!
Just let me know,

¡Que tengan un buen inicio de semana!
