Mujeres Con Exito needs $3800 to reach our goal. Will you help?

We are over half of the way to our goal. Fifty-seven hundred raised and only $3800 to go. Will you help us get our kids back to school?

Our dilemma: 22 shelter children living at Casa Mara Amor + 78 shelter children living outside the shelter x $95 = $9,500. This is the amount needed to provide our children with shoes, uniforms, underwear, backpacks and supplies. (Please note: thanks to our mailing list generosity and you wonderful people on GringoPost and Facebook, we have raised $5700 of this goal since last August 13th)

How you can help: We are looking for more $95 sponsors to help our kids return to school. If you can afford more, that would be great too.

Willing to help Haitians who have endured 2 devastating earthquakes?

If you are, there is a non-profit group in Santa Barbara, CA, who bring or send solar powered lights to those who have no electricity. With the impending hurricane bearing down on them can you take a look at this non-profit who distribute these amazing small solar lamps designed by a class at the UC Santa Barbara CA years ago. My wife and I have personally brought them here in our luggage and had them shipped here to Ecuador. Our friend Elizabeth Bekes an English Teacher from Belgium distributed them to pupils in the Amazon Jungle where she taught. A Family member who introduced me to the lights has distributed them to countries in Africa and Europe when on assignment there. Please look at their website of FB page for the non-profit, Unite to Light.

I still have my first light which I have had for many years and it still works! If you would like more info you can email me. This is a small investment, $10 for someone’s security and well being when there is no light or electricity available.

Your secrets are safe with Wes the Mentalist: …REALLY

Benefit performance For Help Me to Help.

Years ago, when I first entered the stage, I announced that I was about to delve into the hidden thoughts of the audience; to search out the areas that were hidden from those connected to the audience member, and reveal their innermost thoughts. In my exuberance and enthusiasm to entertain, I chose words ill-suited to creating an attitude of positive, enthusiastic, and engaging audience expectations.

There was too much hyperbole.

I should have said, “Tonight I invite you to suspend your disbelief (the behavior we adopt when viewing a film, a stage play or a mentalism demonstration) what Merriam Webster defines as “allowing yourself to believe that something is true even though it seems to be impossible.” Join me as we explore the “impossible.”

Hi all,

I am in the United States and need a document that is in the registro civil. I need someone who can do a power of attorney for me and I would like to know if I can do that via an electronic signature?

Does someone here have a recommendation? Or does anyone know a lawyer who can help with this quickly?

…It’s a marathon not a sprint

Okay, the great opportunity to practice Spanish is right in front of you, but suddenly you draw a blank and your brain switches to panic mode. Here we go again…the long list of verbs you posted on your bathroom mirror suddenly melts like Dali’s “camembert of time” painting.

When listening to a native Spanish speaker you are able to recognize the first words of the dialogue, however as you start to put them together, you find yourself lost in the middle of a strange language (tons of phonics plus a jungle of accents) Hmm, does this person speak faster than normal or maybe it is just you overwhelmed by frustration? Hmm, maybe both of them, but remember that acquiring a language is a marathon not a sprint.

Leave me a message if you want to make this marathon mentored by a teacher, I won’t do the hard work for you (sorry) but certainly I will encourage you to get your best while acquiring a second language.

You don’t need to be proficient to be understood: Man look, you’ve understood this post and I am not proficient in English (shhhhhh).

But for those who are fluent in Spanish and want to make progress to proficiency, wait for my next post on Monday!

Would you like to meet before we begin working with one other? I would love to!
Just let me know,

¡Que tengan un buen inicio de semana!

Recommendation for Frankin Morocho, plumbing

Franklin Morocho arrived punctually and was very likeable. We had a list of problems from using Google, but Franklin was ready to translate our voices onto his phone.
He examined each of our 3 problems, and fixed all 3 in a short time.
And, when finished, Franklin even swept up and took care of the trash.

Miracle 1) Franklin showed up – unlike some others we had called
Miracle 2) Franklin was likeable and got the problems fixed to our complete satisfaction
Miracle 3) Franklin swept up and put out the trash

And, the price was unbelievably reasonable! What more can I say?
