We are over half of the way to our goal. Fifty-seven hundred raised and only $3800 to go. Will you help us get our kids back to school?
Our dilemma: 22 shelter children living at Casa Mara Amor + 78 shelter children living outside the shelter x $95 = $9,500. This is the amount needed to provide our children with shoes, uniforms, underwear, backpacks and supplies. (Please note: thanks to our mailing list generosity and you wonderful people on GringoPost and Facebook, we have raised $5700 of this goal since last August 13th)
How you can help: We are looking for more $95 sponsors to help our kids return to school. If you can afford more, that would be great too.
If you are, there is a non-profit group in Santa Barbara, CA, who bring or send solar powered lights to those who have no electricity. With the impending hurricane bearing down on them can you take a look at this non-profit who distribute these amazing small solar lamps designed by a class at the UC Santa Barbara CA years ago. My wife and I have personally brought them here in our luggage and had them shipped here to Ecuador. Our friend Elizabeth Bekes an English Teacher from Belgium distributed them to pupils in the Amazon Jungle where she taught. A Family member who introduced me to the lights has distributed them to countries in Africa and Europe when on assignment there. Please look at their website of FB page for the non-profit, Unite to Light.
I still have my first light which I have had for many years and it still works! If you would like more info you can email me. This is a small investment, $10 for someone’s security and well being when there is no light or electricity available.

Siblings, Bentley and Hanna are looking for an excellent, forever home. They are spectacular and robust 8-year old Ragdolls. Both have been sterilized, vaccinated and chipped. It’s necessary to groom their beautiful coats at least twice a week (which they love) to keep them in dazzling condition. Bentley and Hanna are bonded and cannot be separated.
Kitties will come with beds, treats, and toys.
If you’re interested in adopting these two gorgeous lovebugs, please contact me.
