New Ministry of Health website to register for coronavirus vaccine

About a week ago the Ministry of Health put up a new website that is supposed to (emphasis on supposed to) give you the date, time and location of your scheduled coronavirus vaccinations (first and second shots).

As others have reported, sometimes they have been directed to an incorrect location, but eventually arrived at the correct place for shot #1 or shot #2.

I have read that beginning June 15th the government plans to expand the eligible ages to 50-64. If you would like to confirm your enrollment or contact information in the Ministry of Health’s database, you can go to the following web page (new):

How to be a hard-working – personal attorney

First of all, you must know the laws extremely well; you should not wait on somebody else’s information nor try to copy.

You must specialize in in your legal field; you cannot put your clients at risk, even more so if you know that this client is a foreigner who may lose his regularity in the country.

You should be honest with your client if you know that he/she is going to have problems or that things are not going to be easy.

You must try by all means to protect your client legally.

You must be honest with your work and actions. You cannot offer to get something by bribery; you may be putting your client and/ or yourself at risk in the very near future.

Do you think about your health?

A few nights ago, a young man stopped by because he wanted me to review the medications the doctor in the public system prescribed him. He also could not buy the medications. He just wanted to talk to someone, someone to give him some confidence, get his medications and be able to sleep somewhere where he could be comfortable while recovering.

As well, this past week we assisted someone who had a major dental infection and suffering from one of the worst cases of psoriasis I had ever seen. But there was no way she could get the medications or dental assistance needed.

For those living on the streets, with no family or support system, when you are sick things can be scary. Not knowing exactly what is wrong with you. At the very least, you need someone to talk to, to give you that comfort level and support. We try our best to be that support system, but it is getting increasingly challenging as the public medical system seems to be collapsing. More and more we are being called upon to provide medications, oxygen, dental assistance and second opinions.

Your monthly support of Hogar de Esperanza (Home of Hope) helps us help others to have to worry a little less about their health.

Is there a for Paraguay? I’ve been to Ecuador now for almost 2 months, while I love living in Cuenca, I’ve decided a Paraguay residency may be better at serving my needs. Does anybody have any information on immigrating to Paraguay? I would like to get in touch with lawyers, facilitators.

Doris & Daisy

Doris and Daisy are two lovely bonded female kitties looking for their forever home. They are just over 1-year old and are spayed and vaccinated. They are indoor-only lap cats that have not had much exposure to people except for their former owner and their current foster family. They coexist quite well with doggies.

Doris is more outgoing and friendly while Daisy is a little bit shy. They are very cuddly and will make a wonderful addition to your family.

They will come with litter box, carriers, scratching post and toys.

Please contact me if you would like to meet Doris & Daisy.

Loooking for a new dentist

Our dentist of 7 years, Dr. Alan Woods, died recently. Searching for a new dentist as good as Dr. Woods. A dentist that believes in pain-free dentistry and a dentist who is conservative and practices restraint. Condominium, houses, towers for cats

The cat by nature is a very curious and playful animal. Scratching is one of his “hobbies” that helps him file his nails and is a way of channeling his anxiety. If your cat scratches the sofa at home for any reason, you do not have to be angry. Perhaps you are not offering him another alternative or you do not know that he needs a toy to channel his energy. That is why you have to know the star toy, the scratching post for cats.

– The scraper helps keep your nails healthy and strong.

– It serves as a refuge for you when you seek tranquility.

– One of the most important benefits it provides to your cat is that it keeps him active and helps him avoid health problems.

– Helps calm your instinct for curiosity.

– Strong, solid and stable, all in wood.

Recommendation for Mustafa Aladawi, IT / high computer and TV tech

I would like to add my name to the long list of recommendations for computer tech, Mustafa Aladawi, a most polite man. He is punctual and very professional. He will fix any computer, internet, TV, printers, and cellphones issues within a few minutes and he can install any programs needed for any of your devices.

He showed me an alternative app that is better than modro which we used previously which includes all North America live TV. It is just a click away (all sports, HBO, Showtime, NBC, all news channels and more).

He speaks perfect English and his fees are reasonable compared to other technicians we have encountered here in Cuenca.

His expertise is top-notch. I highly recommend him for large and small technical issues.

What to do if I have a traffic accident with a bicycle?

Dear Expat Community, here are some recommendations on what to do in case you hit a person on a bicycle with your vehicle:

• first and foremost, call your insurance advisor immediately so that he/she can provide you with personalized advice.
• second, do not take the blame for the accident
• try to mediate directly with the owner of the bicycle.
• if there are injuries, call the traffic police immediately after speaking with your insurance advisor.
• calmly and carefully analyze how the accident occurred and whether or not you are at fault.
• if the driver of the bicycle died, contact your insurance advisor and a lawyer. if you have a liability policy, the company may provide legal services, as long as you were not intoxicated, and if you were, you should analyze if your policy has property coverage.
• try to mediate with the affected parties so that your vehicle is not taken into custody.
